Good to Know: Inside the Palace, Getting There & Opening Hours

Your guided portion covers the palace interiors, where the standouts are the Hall of Mirrors, the royal State Apartments, and the Baroque Chapel of Versailles. After that, you're free to roam the grounds at your own pace: the formal gardens with their fountains and sculpted groves, and, at the far end of the estate, Marie Antoinette's private world of the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet.

Roundtrip transport from Paris is included, so the meeting point and travel are handled for you. If you ever make your own way out, Versailles sits southwest of the city at Place d'Armes, easiest reached on the RER C line to Versailles Chateau Rive Gauche, about a 10-minute walk from the gates.

Hours vary by area. The palace, including the Hall of Mirrors, runs 09:00 to 17:30 with last admission at 16:45, closed Mondays and on January 1, May 1, and December 25. The Trianon Estate opens later, 12:00 to 17:30, with the same closures. The gardens and park are open daily 08:00 to 18:00, weather permitting, though access to some groves can be limited in the low season.
