Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia & Topkapi Tickets + Audio Guide
About this tour
One combined ticket gets you into three of Istanbul's landmarks: the Basilica Cistern, an underground Byzantine reservoir with its famous Medusa-head column bases; Hagia Sophia; and Topkapi Palace, the longtime home of the Ottoman sultans. An audio guide is included for each stop, so you can move at your own pace and still get the background. All three sit within walking distance of each other in the Sultanahmet area, which makes it easy to see them in a single day.
Highlights
- Step into the Harem, the private quarters of the Sultan and his family
- See jewels, ceremonial weapons, and treasures in the Imperial Treasury
- Walk the palace courtyards and gardens overlooking the Bosphorus

Opening Hours & Dress Code
Topkapi Palace is open every day except Tuesdays. From April 1 to October 1 the hours are 09:00 to 18:00, and from October 1 to April 1 they run 09:00 to 17:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and the palace is closed on the first day of Eid al-Fitr. There's no dress code, though it's smart to skip overly revealing clothing if you're also stopping at nearby Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque, both of which ask for modest dress. Comfortable shoes help, since the grounds cover a lot of walking.
The Basilica Cistern runs two separate sessions each day. A daytime ticket does not work for the evening session. There's no dress code here either, but the same modest-dress advice applies if you're visiting the mosques nearby, and non-slip shoes are worth it given the damp, uneven floors underground.
