Topkapi Palace Guided Tour with Harem, Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosque
About this tour
This guided tour takes you through Istanbul's Topkapi Palace, home of the Ottoman sultans for centuries, and adds two of the city's landmarks next door: Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Inside the palace you'll see the Harem where the sultan's family lived, the Imperial Treasury full of jewels and weapons, and the Holy Relics Chamber. You'll also walk courtyards and gardens looking out over the Bosphorus, with Iznik tiles and Ottoman architecture throughout. Plan on two to three hours for the palace itself.
Highlights
- Step into the Harem, the private quarters of the sultan and his family
- See the jewels, weapons, and artifacts of the Imperial Treasury
- Walk the courtyards and gardens overlooking the Bosphorus
- View sacred Islamic relics in the Holy Relics Chamber
- Take in the Iznik tilework and Ottoman architecture across the palace complex
Places You Will Visit
Topkapi Palace Opening Hours and What to Wear
Topkapi Palace is open daily except Tuesdays. From April 1 to October 1 it runs on summer hours, 09:00 to 18:00, and from October 1 to April 1 on winter hours, 09:00 to 17:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and the palace is closed on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
There's no strict dress code, but since you'll likely pair this with Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque nearby, it's worth skipping anything too revealing. The complex is spread out with a lot of walking, so comfortable clothes and shoes make the day easier.
