About this tour

This two-day admission ticket gives you plenty of time to work through everything at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on Florida's Space Coast, about an hour east of Orlando. You can walk beneath the enormous Saturn V moon rocket, come face to face with Space Shuttle Atlantis, touch a real piece of moon rock, and get a sense of what a launch actually feels like. Along the way you'll see genuine astronaut gear and spacecraft that flew real missions. Your second visit has to fall within six months of the first.

Highlights

  • Feel what a shuttle launch is like, meet an astronaut, and touch a real piece of moon rock
  • Stand beneath the massive Saturn V, the most powerful rocket ever flown
  • See genuine astronaut gear, spaceflight artifacts, and replicas of key mission hardware
  • Walk right up to Space Shuttle Atlantis, displayed with its payload bay doors open as if still in orbit
  • Ride a bus across the working spaceport toward the launch pads and the giant Vehicle Assembly Building

FAQs

Where is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex?
It sits on Merritt Island on Florida's Space Coast, roughly an hour's drive east of Orlando. This is the public-facing side of NASA's main launch site.
How long should I plan to spend there?
Plan on the better part of a full day to see everything without rushing. The site is spread out and the bus tour across the spaceport takes a good chunk of time on its own.
Can I combine this with other Orlando attractions in the same day?
It's awkward to pair with other Orlando attractions because of the drive, so most people treat it as its own trip. The two-day ticket makes it easy to spread things out across two visits.
What should I bring or know before going?
Much of the complex is outdoors, so bring water, sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes. If a launch is scheduled during your visit, it's worth checking the calendar first, since crowds and viewing arrangements change.
