About Miniaturk
Miniaturk is Istanbul's open-air miniature park, sitting on the shore of the Golden Horn in the Sutluce area of Beyoglu. The park brings together more than 135 scale models of landmarks from across Turkiye, plus a few from Ottoman-era territories beyond today's borders, all built at 1:25 scale and laid out along walkable paths. You'll spot small versions of things you might already know, like Hagia Sophia, the Bosphorus Bridge, and the ancient sites at Ephesus, alongside buildings and monuments from cities you may not get to visit in person. It's a way to see the country's architecture in an afternoon rather than over several trips.
The layout is roughly geographic, grouping models by region, so wandering through it works a bit like a fast tour of Turkiye. Many of the replicas have interactive buttons and features that appeal to kids, and an audio guide, offered in several languages, explains the story behind each one as you go. Because it's outdoors and fairly flat, it's easy to cover with children or anyone who'd rather not deal with stairs and crowds. There's open space to walk, and the models are detailed enough that adults tend to linger over them too.
Plan for one to two hours to see the whole park at a relaxed pace, more if you're stopping to read or listen at each model. Miniaturk sits away from the old-city cluster of Sultanahmet, so it works best either as its own outing or paired with other stops along the Golden Horn. Entry is paid, and buying a skip-the-line ticket in advance saves you the wait at the gate on busier days. Weekday mornings tend to be quieter, and since most of the visit is spent outside, it's worth checking the weather before you go.
