A guide travels with you the whole day. You'll walk through the Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum, wander the tiled Silk Market inside the old covered bazaar, and see the roughly 600-year-old Inkaya plane tree. How the Day Runs: Istanbul to Bursa and Uludag and Back
Your guide meets you at your Istanbul hotel in the morning, and you head south toward Bursa, roughly a two-hour drive that includes a stretch across the Sea of Marmara. Once there, the day moves between the city and the mountain: the Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum, a walk through the old covered bazaar and its Silk Market, time in Bursa's city center, and a stop at the 600-year-old Inkaya plane tree.
Up on Uludag, known as Mount Olympos, you get time in the mountain setting before the drive back. Lunch is worked into the schedule partway through. In the evening you're returned to your Istanbul hotel. Dress for the weather, since Uludag runs noticeably cooler than the city, and comfortable walking shoes help with the day's walking.
