About this tour

Spend an hour on horseback winding through Cappadocia's valleys, past the tall rock cones known as fairy chimneys and the region's weathered stone formations. The horses are calm and well-suited to first-timers, so no experience is needed, and instructors ride along to help you get comfortable in the saddle. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with all riding gear. Sunrise and sunset departures are also available if you'd rather ride in softer light and cooler air.

Good to Know Before Your Ride

Rides run at several times across the day, and the sunrise and sunset slots book up fastest since the light and cooler air make them the favorites. Reserve ahead if you can, especially in the busy summer months, so you get the departure time you want. Your ride starts once you're picked up from your hotel and brought out to the stables.

Dress for time in the saddle. Long pants or jeans keep your legs from rubbing against the saddle, a long-sleeved shirt helps with sun, and closed-toe shoes or low-heeled boots give you a better grip in the stirrups. Skip anything loose or flowing that could snag on the horse or tack, and pack layers if you're riding in the colder months. A helmet is handed out for your ride.
