About LEGOLAND® New York Resort
LEGOLAND® New York Resort sits in Goshen, in New York's Hudson Valley, about 60 miles northwest of New York City. It opened in 2021 as the largest LEGOLAND park in the world by land area, built across rolling terrain that the designers kept rather than flattened, so paths climb and dip between themed areas instead of spreading out on one level. The park is organized into several lands, including Bricktopia, Miniland, LEGO® Castle, LEGO® Pirates, LEGO® City, LEGO NINJAGO® World, and LEGO® Ninjago and the brick-built worlds in between. It is aimed squarely at families with children roughly 2 to 12, and the rides, shows, and building stations are scaled to that age range rather than to thrill-seeking teenagers.
Miniland is the piece most people photograph: scenes of New York City, Washington D.C., and other landmarks rebuilt from millions of LEGO bricks, with working details and small moving parts. Elsewhere you get gentle coasters, a driving school where kids earn a LEGO license, interactive dark rides where you shoot targets from a moving car, and plenty of indoor, air-conditioned space for hot afternoons. An on-site hotel sits right at the entrance, themed room by room, which makes an overnight stay practical if you are coming from the city or planning two days.
A few practical notes. The resort is seasonal and typically closes over winter, so check the operating calendar before you plan a trip, since hours and open days shift by month. It is easiest to reach by car, with parking on site, as public transport options from New York City are limited and usually involve a connection. Admission is a separate ticket from the hotel, and booking a dated ticket online ahead of time is the normal way to visit. Allow a full day if you want to cover the main lands at a child's pace, and bring layers, since the hilly layout means a fair amount of walking.
