About LEGOLAND® Florida Resort
LEGOLAND® Florida Resort sits in Winter Haven, about 45 minutes southwest of the main Orlando theme-park corridor, and it is built squarely for families with kids roughly 2 to 12. The park is divided into themed lands, with more than 50 rides, shows, and hands-on building areas, plus a separate water park that operates seasonally. Miniland USA is the centerpiece for a lot of visitors: detailed models of American cities and landmarks built from millions of LEGO bricks, with moving boats, trains, and small motorized scenes.
The resort covers a lot more than rides. There is a botanical garden left over from the site's earlier life as Cypress Gardens, which is why you will see mature banyan trees and formal plantings you do not usually get at a theme park. On-site hotels sit within walking distance of the entrance, which cuts out driving and parking on a second day. The water park and the attached aquarium are often sold as add-ons rather than being part of the base ticket, so it is worth checking exactly what your ticket covers before you go.
Because the crowd skews young, the pace here is gentler than at the bigger Orlando parks, and most of the big coasters are milder, family-style rides rather than thrill machines. Central Florida heat and afternoon thunderstorms in summer are the main things to plan around, so early starts and the water park in the afternoon tend to work well. Parking is paid and separate from admission. A single full day is enough for the theme park itself, two if you are adding the water park.
