Good to Know Before You Visit Edge NYC
Edge NYC sits at 30 Hudson Yards on Manhattan's west side, an open-air platform that angles out from the 100th floor roughly 1,100 feet above the street. The main draw is the outdoor sky deck, where you look across Manhattan, the Hudson River, and the skyline running south toward Lower Manhattan rather than straight down a flat wall. A glass floor section lets you look directly to the ground beneath your feet, and the angled glass walls lean outward so you can stand right against them. On clear days you can pick out Midtown landmarks like the Empire State Building to the east, Central Park to the north, and parts of New Jersey and Brooklyn in the distance. Indoor viewing areas with floor-to-ceiling windows are a good fallback in colder months or when the terrace is busy.
The deck is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00, with last entry at 20:00; hours can shift on holidays or for special events. The platform is high enough that wind is a real factor, so bring a jacket even in milder weather. Getting there is simple: take the 7 subway line to the 34th Street-Hudson Yards station, right by the building, and Edge sits within the same complex as the Vessel and the Shops at Hudson Yards. Most people spend one to two hours here, a little longer if you stop at the champagne bar or wait out the crowd for a clear shot on the glass floor.
