About Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and sits at Marne-la-Vallee, about 32 km east of central Paris in the Coupvray area. It is not a single park but a resort: two theme parks side by side, Disneyland Park with its landmark Sleeping Beauty Castle, and Walt Disney Studios Park, which leans toward film, animation, and newer attractions. Between and around them are Disney Village, an open promenade of restaurants and shops, plus a cluster of hotels. The two parks share one entrance plaza, so it's easy to move between them if your ticket allows it.
Disneyland Park is the classic side, built around a central hub with themed lands running off it, from Main Street to Fantasyland, Adventureland, Frontierland, and Discoveryland. Walt Disney Studios Park is generally the smaller of the two and has changed a lot in recent years, with areas themed around well-known film franchises. Ticket types matter here. A single-park ticket gets you into one park for the day, while a Park Hopper style ticket lets you cross between both, which is worth it if you want the castle and the studio rides in one visit. Because entry works on dated tickets, booking a specific day in advance is normal and often required in busy periods.
Getting there is straightforward. RER line A runs from central Paris to Marne-la-Vallee/Chessy station, which sits right at the resort entrance, and the same station is served by TGV and Eurostar trains, so some visitors arrive directly from other cities. Plan on a full day for one park, or two days if you want both without rushing. Weekends, French school holidays, and the summer months are the busiest, and queues for headline rides can be long, so arriving near opening and checking the official app for wait times and any ride-reservation systems is the practical move.
