Blue Mosque: Hours & Dress Code

The Blue Mosque is open to visitors every day, with hours that shift by season. From April 1 to September 30, it opens 08:30 to 19:00; from October 1 to March 31, hours run 08:30 to 17:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing.

Because this is a working mosque, it closes to visitors for each of the five daily prayers, roughly 90 minutes at a time, and every Friday morning until 14:30 for Jumu'ah prayer. Any other time outside of prayers, you're free to look around. There's no dress code for children under eight, but everyone else needs to dress modestly: women should wear a skirt to the knee or longer or full-length trousers, cover their shoulders and arms, and wear a headscarf inside; men should wear full-length trousers or knee-length shorts, and no sleeveless shirts.
